What ‘Power Five’ Vote Could Mean For College Athletics
With today’s vote to allow the top five conferences in NCAA Division I athletics, which include the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and SEC, henceforth to be known as the “Power Five”, a change in the status quo of college athletics is underway. The Power Five are now getting what they wished for, more control of punishments, profits and creation of rules, but they also take some more of the heat, which benefits student-athletes.
Hot in Cleveland
The ‘King’ is coming home, and Johnny Football’s hype and off-duty drama is reaching unprecedented levels. Not even Betty White could bring this much publicity to Cleveland. She probably wasn’t surprised James returned to the promised land. Or was she? Will it be enough to bring Cleveland much needed championships and excitement to a city flush with franchises struggling to stay relevant?

I was born and raised in Sheboygan, Wis.

Studied journalism with a minor in general business and Spanish at UW-Whitewater.

I will graduate in May 2014 and will be looking for sports writer jobs across the Midwest.

I'm very experienced covering sports like the Wisconsin Badgers, UW-Whitewater sports and other high school teams.

Some sports I've covered include football, basketball, baseball, soccer, wrestling, volleyball and track.

I also had an internship in the summer of 2013 with Gannett at the Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter writing business, news and feature stories.
